About Take the City
What is this?
Take the City is a global territory game. Players form clans, pool money into their clan's war chest, and use it to claim cities on a live world map. The clan with the highest total on a city holds it — until a rival out-bids them or their total decays away.
How bidding works
Tap a city, enter an amount, pay through our checkout provider. Your contribution is added to your clan's total on that city. Ownership flips only when your clan passes the current holder's total — a city sitting at $100,000 costs more than $100,000 to take, and the panel shows the exact price. Every contribution is final and non-refundable — it is a game entry, not an investment, and confers no rights over any real place.
City totals decay slowly each day. Clans that defended a city recently are spared — an idle empire crumbles, an active one endures.
Clans
Founding a clan costs a one-off $5. Joining one is free. You belong to one clan at a time, with a 24-hour cooldown between switches. Clans set their own join policy: open, approval-based, or invite-only. Verified brands can apply for a badge and run official clans.
Excluded areas
A small number of disputed territories are excluded from bidding on this platform. These areas appear on the map but are not interactive. This is a neutral platform decision and does not express any position on the disputes themselves.
